Sunday School Classes

Pre-School
This class is for children ages 3 - 4 and use Cokesbury's Live BIG material.  Teachers are Andrea McAtee & Susan Garland

Younger Elementary (K-2nd grade) and  Older Elementary (3rd-5th grade)
These classes also use the Cokesbury Live Big childrens material.  Our purpose is to lay a solid foundation of teaching, nurturing and love in which each child will be able to build a life that is pleasing to God.  The laughs and giggles are a bonus.

Middle School & High School (6th-8th & 9th-12th grade students) are learning who they are in Christ on a deeper level and have recently started using the Faith Weaver material from Group Publishing.  This material is designed to create conversations with your family as you learn about the Bible.  The middle school class is taught by Carol Maddox and the high school class is taught by Kendra Redd, our Youth Director.

BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) Sunday School Class is comprised of all ages. The class is led by several members on a rotational basis and uses a variety of Adult Bible Studies literature.  The BASIC Class usually has a social gathering once a month (i.e. potluck dinners, bowling party, swimming party).  Each Christmas the class hosts a dinner for Special Singles of the church.  This class is currently sponsoring a Cook Book Fundraiser.  A copy of Basic Recipes From The Heart can be purchased for $6.

Christ's Ambassadors are a mixed group of adults, ages 30 and up.  The format of open discussion and class participation is aided by videos and studies which help us to better understand the people of the Bible and its teachings and how we can apply it to our daily lives.  Teacher's responsibilities vary with classroom lessons.  Emphasis is on participation.  As a class and as individuals, we truly strive to be Christ's Ambassadors through outreach to our church, the community and the world.

Fidelis (for fidelity), meets in the kitchen.  It is a small class, presently of men.  All men and women are welcome to join.  The Fidelis Class, over the years, has been a source of many teachers in the Sunday School program.  Adult Bible Studies and videos are used in an informal participation setting.  Robert Smith is currently leading this class.

Wesley The present Wesley Fellowship Class was organized about sixty-five years ago as the Young Adult Class by the late Roy McDonald who also taught the class.  The average attendance is 12. The class meets in the chapel.

LLL (Love, Loyalty and Leadership) was formed from members of the Wesley Fellowship Class in 1959, at the same time the congregation was moving to the new church at the present location.  If there were to be an additional "L" added to the class it would stand for Laughter, as this is a FUN class!  The class consists of a good mix of Native Trigg County folks and "Transplants" from other locations.

WWW  (From Wanderers to Willing Worshippers)  This is a fun class that uses a variety of literature.  A mixture of all ages makes this class very well rounded and accepting to many different view points.  A casual atmosphere makes this class the perfect place for those wishing to start the journey from being a Wander to a Willing Worshipper.

Barnabus Bunch Ages as well as backgrounds vary for a good mix.
